Never would I have imagined that Diana‘s original tale (and all 8 books actually) would help me learn so much about Scotland, history and the American Revolution. I am new to the Outlander universe (thanks Covid) I became a fan of both Sam and Graham only eight months ago. Sam’s reading was very good.Ī marvelous tale of two friends exploring Scotland And why, oh why is Graham whispering all the time in the audio book? One has to pump up the volume to hear what he’s saying and that’s really annoying. Oh, come on, how childish is that? You’re not the only tall people out there. There must have been a dozen remarks on ”I’m six foot this and that”.

Too many supposed-to-be-funny cutting remarks to one another, too little meat to the story. I thought we would get to read/listen to a strong and educating story of the history of Scotland and its main sights spiced up with Sam’s and Graham’s insights but instead the book consisted of random ramblings bouncing from the events and shooting locations of Outlander to the writers’ personal/work life experiences.

I struggled to find the main thread of the book which, in my opinion, relied mostly on the plot, characters and making of Outlander. I was quite disappointed with the story and with the performance of Graham in the audiobook.
